Share some homemade goodness and create a fluffy popover that's packed with flavor made with our 2020 Maker's Reserve Cheddar and Salted Extra Creamy Butter.
Ingredients
3 eggs, room temperature
1 1⁄2cups milk, warm
1 1⁄2cups flour
1⁄2tsp salt
2-3 tbsp Tillamook Sea Salted Extra Creamy Butter, divided in 6 (popover tin) or 12 pieces (muffin tin).
Preheat your oven to 450F and add your popover or muffin tin.
In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs and milk and whisk until combined and airy.
Add in the flour, salt, and grated Tillamook Maker’s Reserve Cheddar. Whisk until just combined.
Remove preheated popover or muffin tin and add in the Tillamook Sea Salted Extra Creamy Butter pieces into each cup. Coat each cup with butter using a pastry brush. Add the tin back into the oven for 3-5 minutes.
Remove tin from the oven and immediately pour the popover mixture to each cup evenly. Transfer back to the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Reduce heat for 350F and bake for additional 10-14 minutes or until lightly browned and cooked.
Remove from the oven and immediately transfer popovers out of tin to a cooling rack. Using a knife make a slit in each popover to help steam escape and ensure popovers hold their shape.
Serve with additional butter, jam, or apple butter.
