A perfect cheesy appetizer for Superbowl or award-show watch-parties, or even binge-watching TV with friends. These bites are low effort with high pay off and are certainly going to be a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
1 14oz. package frozen puff pastry, thawed
All-purpose flour, for dusting
1 ½ cup jarred pizza sauce
1 package (8oz) Tillamook Whole Milk Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
24 slices of pepperoni (optional)
Flaky salt, for garnish
Hot honey, for garnish
1 cup ranch dressing, for serving
Preheat oven to 425F. Line a half sheet tray with parchment paper and set aside.
Remove puff pastry from its packaging. Dust work surface and dough lightly with flour. Roll dough to remove creases in the dough and flatten to about 1/8” thick. Using a 2” circle cutter, cut circles of dough and transfer to the baking sheet.
Tip: Keep the puff pastry as cold as possible to ensure you get the most puff in the oven. So don’t let it sit out on a warm counter for too long.
Dock the center of each circle about 5 times with a fork. Spoon about 2 tsp of the pizza sauce in the center of each circle (do NOT use too much; underfilling is preferable). Then sprinkle about 1 tbsp of the Tillamook Whole Milk Shredded Mozzarella Cheese on top of each circle, followed by a circle of pepperoni.
Tip: Don’t use too much pizza sauce as it’ll waterlog the dough and prevent crispiness.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puffs are towering, golden, bubbling and the dough is browned on the bottom. Sprinkle with flaky salt and hot honey. Serve hot with ranch on the side.
