Cream Cheese Crostini
Tillamook Original Cream Cheese Spread is the ultimate base for these holiday crostinis that’ll have everyone going back for seconds.
Ingredients
½ Cup balsamic vinegar
1 baguette, sliced into ½ inch pieces
2 Tbsp Tillamook Extra Creamy Unsalted Butter, melted
1 tub (7oz) of Tillamook Original Cream Cheese Spread
1 Cup cranberry jam or jelly, the thicker, the better.
Leaves from 1 sprig of thyme
2 Tsp flakey salt
In a saucepan, slowly reduce balsamic vinegar over medium-low heat until liquid has thickened to syrup consistency and is half of its original volume.
Tip: Reduce balsamic vinegar ahead of time. Once cool, let store in an airtight container.
Preheat the oven to low broil and prepare a baking sheet.
Brush melted butter across one side of each baguette slice then set the buttered slices evenly upon the baking sheet.
Bake for five minutes or until crispy and golden.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and set aside to cool for roughly five to ten minutes.
When slices have cooled, spread the thick cream cheese spread over the toasted baguette slices, leaving a small gulf in the center of toast for jam.
Dollop the toast with a spoonful of jam before topping each slice with thyme, flakey salt, and a drizzle of reduced, balsamic vinegar.
Tip: If your jam or jelly appears runny, reduce in a saucepan to desired thickness. Freeze leftover jam for later use.
